I’m going to attach the press release for One Voice in just a moment. But, first, let me tell you a few things if you plan to go to the sim for One Voice.
1) It is VERY popular, so it may take a while for you to get in, be patient, it’s worth it I promise.

3) There are a lot of stores participating, so take your time to look around. Let things rez, and just enjoy yourself.

There are two types of creators in second life (at least this is what I’ve seen). The one type, this is just for fun, the things they create, they do it because not only do they love creating, they love bringing things to people. Creating is not their livelihood. The second type, while this may be for fun, second life is what supports them in the real world. They use their creations to support their lives, their kids lives, whatever. And this type is what is being targeted right now.
The creator of Curio skins is being sued in real life, which means Linden Labs has removed her items until the legal battle is over. This means, she is going to lose business. Now, some people will go to this event and think it’s just for fun and games, sure it will help with the legal fees, but that’s not why they are going. Others will go, because they feel what is happening is wrong, and they want to help support her, to get the money to pay these huge fees.
Me personally, I am part of the second group of people. I feel that what is happening to her right now, is not right, and something needs to be done. I feel that I need to go to this event and buy as much as I can, so I can help with the money she needs. I’m only one person right? Yeah, that’s very right. But, I know even a little bit will help, and I intend to help as much as I can.
I will be doing a few blog posts after this with items I have gotten from this event. It may take a while to get them all up, it may take me a while to get in, but I will persist. This is for the greater good.

Curio’s Gala Phoenix is currently in the midst of legal issues which have resulted in her content being removed from the grid, pending the outcome of her legal battle. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) process in Second Life requires that when there is legal action taken against your content, Linden Lab will remove it from the grid until a ruling is made. Gala’s fellow content creators have come together to host a fundraiser to help with the substantial legal costs she will incur in contesting these baseless claims.
The fundraiser will be held from July 9-15.
This fundraiser is not only to help Gala Phoenix, but to also take a stand for the community of content creators, for many of whom SL is their main source of income. This could happen to any one of us, and it’s necessary that we stand up and fight back to ensure that it doesn’t.
We’d like to thank all of the talented designers who’ve generously participated and agreed to donate some or all of the proceeds from their sales, and we’d like to thank everyone who comes out for showing their support.
